===== Recruitment =====

Credit certainly goes to [[jotheloi|Jo the Loiterer]] for picking up on a newspaper article 
that mentioned my interest in puzzles. He brought me to the [[cons:1997:photos|1997 convention]], 
where I met all the wonderful NPL people and had a blast. Credit also goes to [[QED]] for making 
me stay an extra night for more [[gamerules:mafia|Mafia-filled]] conventioning. I signed up 
on the spot.

===== Nom =====

Besides the fact that I like the word, my nom wound up
applying to my convention experience in two ways. In the
first place, I was somewhat of an Anomaly there . . . being
the youngest by a few years and being a non-NPLer. But even
more appropriately, I was a-nom-alous for the entire
convention, so I decided to remain that way permanently -
Anomaly!
