It's hard to say who exactly 'recruited' me . . . . I first heard it about it from [[misc:CRUCIVERB-L|the Cruciverb-L list]], 
and [[krewe:noms:chex|Chex]] and [[krewe:noms:en|En]] were the first people to tell me anything specific 
about it. Then I met a few at the [[misc:acpt1998|Stamford tournament]], and talked about it with 
[[krewe:noms:etc|etc.]] and decided for sure to join. So I guess I derive most directly from 
[[krewe:noms:etc|etc.]] and [[misc:acpt1998|Stamford]].

My nom [. . .] is a variant of CACIQUE, a kind of tropical
oriole. I picked it because it's the highest opening move in
Scrabble, and I think it's a very pretty-looking word. It's
also the name of my computer (it was that before it was my nom).
