I met [[Arachne]] in 1982 at the First U.S. Open X - word Championship at NYU 
(this is also where I first met everybody else: [[WILLz]], [[Famulus]],
[[Senor]], [[Double-H]], [[En]]. //et alii//). And she was the first to mention 
the NPL to me; I'm not sure if she was already a member or was about to be one. She
had [[Mangie]] send a [[mini:start|mini-sample]] but I didn't join until 1987 when 
[[Bookworm]] sent in a gift sub for me so I could help him solve.
