May

11 — In line 9, “yield” should be “wield.”
15 — ONE = NI3.
28 — The missing MA in the byline is not intentional.
X-9 — How does the endgame work? Suppose the extra words and letters of the first five Down clues are STICK, X, Q, J, INSIDE, and suppose the name formed by alteration (1) is HENRY. Putting this name in place of the first trigram sequence, XQJ, yields STICK HENRY INSIDE, which would be the beginning of the three wordplay-only clues.

June

One flat has The Error That Cannot Be Named.
55 — To be more precise, this is a letter shift.
F-8 — In clue 6, that’s C6H12O6, for those who can’t read it. In clue 7,
“fo( )egion” should appear on one line.
X-4 — Please submit your solution to this cryptic as usual, but in addition, answer White Oak’s call for help by e-mailing her at whiteoak@puzzlers.org. She will compile your responses (in verse or prose, serious or whimsical) for publication in a future Enigma.
X-8 — The grid was numberless in printed copies of the June issue. See enigma.puzzlers.com.
Page 27 — In the sol for R-16, that’s H2O2, for those who can’t read it.
