My nom story:“etc” can be found in my name (Bridg*et C*opley). I added the punctuation to make it etc. I liked the idea of having my nom mess up Krewe lists, as well as my being able to sign letters with it and sound like I'm not finished yet. Sometimes I am asked if my nom is capitalized at the beginning of a sentence; my reply is that “etc.” never appears at the beginning of a sentence, as everyone knows.
