Pekoe

Recruitment

I first heard about NPL in either late 1984 or early 1985. I was among the 250 chosen participants in the first U.S. Open Crossword Championship at NYU back then and overheard a few NPL members talking about the organization. I do not remember specifically who I was talking to although I seem to think that Senor was possbily the key person in encouraging me to join and taking my address.

First Issue: Jul 1985

Nom

My nom is a phonigmatic rebus of my last name, Atkind - which can also be written as 'a tea kind'. PEKOE was the first kind of tea I came up with.
